Check with seller Animal Shelter
- Location: Ha Noi City, vietnam
We are seeking a Shelter Operations & Animal Care Lead to manage the "muck and gut" of our facility’s daily life. This is a high-intensity, mission-critical role for an individual who is not afraid to handle the unglamorous realities of shelter maintenance—ensuring a clean, safe, and healthy habitat for vulnerable animals. If you possess a deep passion for animal welfare, the physical grit to manage intensive cleaning and feeding schedules, and the ability to maintain organizational order under the pressure of fluctuating intake and adoption cycles, this is an outstanding opportunity to restore stability and provide a sanctuary for animals in transition.
Key Responsibilities
Facility Sanitation (Muck and Gut): Lead the deep-cleaning and disinfection of kennels, cages, and common areas, ensuring our environment meets the highest standards of disease control and hygiene.
Operational Habitat Maintenance: Monitor the physical condition of animal enclosures, overseeing repairs and environmental modifications that ensure animal comfort, safety, and security.
Animal Intake & Triage: Facilitate the arrival process for new animals, performing initial health checks, documentation, and habitat assignment while maintaining strict bio-security protocols.
Inventory & Logistics: Manage the supply chain for essential animal care items—food, medical supplies, and cleaning agents—ensuring we never run out of critical resources during peak intake periods.
Volunteer Coordination: Supervise and train volunteers in the "hands-on" tasks of shelter maintenance, ensuring they are productive, safe, and respectful of the animals' needs.
Crisis & Safety Response: Act as the primary responder for facility emergencies, including containment breaches, sanitation failures, or sudden spikes in animal population.
Data Integrity: Maintain meticulous logs of animal health, intake/outcome dates, and resource usage to ensure full transparency and support for medical and adoption auditing.
Requirements & Qualifications
Education: High school diploma or equivalent; relevant certifications in animal care, veterinary assistance, or facility management are highly preferred.
Experience: 2+ years of experience in animal shelter operations, kennel management, or high-intensity animal husbandry.
Technical Skills:
Practical knowledge of animal behavior, health observation, and common shelter diseases.
Proficiency in shelter management software and record-keeping systems.
Experience with industrial cleaning protocols and hazardous waste handling.
Personal Attributes:
Practical Grit: Willingness to perform physically demanding, repetitive, and often difficult sanitation tasks for the well-being of the animals.
Emotional Resilience: Ability to maintain a focus on operational excellence and animal care in an environment that can be emotionally challenging.
Methodical Discipline: Unwavering commitment to safety and sanitation standards, recognizing that the "muck" must be cleared daily to prevent disease.
Decisiveness: Ability to prioritize tasks effectively when the shelter is at capacity and resources are stretched thin.
