Check with seller Agricultural Volunteering
- Location: Ho Chi Minh City, vietnam
We are seeking a Community Engagement & Agricultural Support Lead to organize and oversee our agricultural volunteer programs. This role is essential for managing the "muck and gut" of large-scale volunteer coordination—ensuring that well-meaning individuals are productively integrated into our daily farm operations, safety protocols, and habitat restoration efforts. If you possess a passion for community building, a disciplined approach to site safety, and the ability to turn hands-on volunteer labor into meaningful operational progress, this is an outstanding opportunity to scale our impact and strengthen our farm's resilience.
Key Responsibilities
Volunteer Onboarding: Develop and conduct comprehensive orientation programs, ensuring all volunteers understand farm operations, safety hazards, and the importance of their role in our "muck and gut" maintenance tasks.
Operational Integration: Assign volunteers to specific, manageable tasks—such as clearing debris, habitat maintenance, or basic crop management—that provide genuine value while remaining safe for non-professionals.
Site Safety & Supervision: Maintain strict oversight of volunteer zones, ensuring compliance with all farm safety protocols, bio-security measures, and industrial equipment restrictions.
Task Logistics: Plan and prepare daily work projects to ensure that tools, materials, and guidance are ready for volunteer arrival, minimizing downtime and maximizing productivity.
Relationship Management: Act as the primary liaison between our farm operations team and the volunteer community, fostering a positive, inclusive, and education-focused environment.
Impact Reporting: Track volunteer hours, completed projects, and operational contributions to report on the efficacy of the program and its role in our site recovery and maintenance goals.
Crisis Coordination: During recovery periods, mobilize volunteer support to assist with emergency debris removal, habitat stabilization, and resource distribution, maintaining order in chaotic conditions.
Requirements & Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Community Development, Education, or a related field; certifications in volunteer management are highly preferred.
Experience: 2+ years of experience in managing large groups, community organizing, or agricultural operations.
Technical Skills:
Basic knowledge of agricultural safety protocols and safe tool handling.
Proficiency in scheduling software and basic communication platforms to coordinate volunteer sign-ups.
Ability to translate complex farm tasks into clear, actionable instructions for varied skill levels.
Personal Attributes:
Patience & Leadership: Ability to teach and guide volunteers with different backgrounds while maintaining professional standards and safety.
Organized Grit: Capacity to manage multiple logistical streams (people, tools, and tasks) in an unpredictable agricultural environment.
Safety-First Mindset: Unwavering commitment to mitigating risk for all participants, regardless of the intensity of the work.
Communication: Exceptional ability to build enthusiasm for "un-glamorous" maintenance work and connect volunteer effort to the broader mission of farm resilience.
