We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Magento 2 Developer to design, develop, and maintain the e-commerce platform for our new luxury hotel and resort in Vietnam. This role is essential during the pre-opening phase, focusing on building a high-performance booking engine, online store for retail products, and seamless digital guest experiences that drive direct reservations and revenue.
As Magento 2 Developer, you will work closely with the Digital Marketing team, DevOps Engineer, and General Manager to create a robust, secure, and scalable Magento 2 platform tailored to hospitality needs.
Key Responsibilities
Platform Development & Customization
Design, develop, and customize Magento 2 modules, themes, and extensions for hotel booking, room inventory, packages, and retail products.
Integrate Magento 2 with Property Management System (PMS – Opera or similar), payment gateways, CRS, and third-party services.
Build and optimize the online booking engine, promotional engines, and loyalty program features.
E-commerce Features & Enhancements
Develop guest-facing features: room selection, dynamic pricing, upsell/cross-sell, gift cards, and virtual tours integration.
Create and manage the retail e-commerce section for hotel merchandise, spa packages, and experiences.
Implement multilingual and multi-currency support for international guests.
Performance, Security & Optimization
Ensure fast loading times, mobile responsiveness, and SEO best practices.
Implement security standards, PCI DSS compliance, and data protection measures.
Work with DevOps team on deployment, CI/CD pipelines, server configuration, and monitoring.
Pre-Opening & Ongoing Support
Build and launch the website and booking platform before soft opening.
Troubleshoot, debug, and maintain the platform post-launch.
Support document verification for all third-party extensions, licenses, payment integrations, and service agreements.
Collaboration
Work with the Digital Marketing team on SEO, analytics, and conversion rate optimization.
Provide technical support and training to internal teams.
Requirements & Qualifications
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
Experience
4–8+ years of hands-on experience with Magento 2 (Adobe Commerce) development.
Proven portfolio of completed Magento 2 projects, preferably in hospitality, travel, or e-commerce.
Technical Skills
Strong proficiency in PHP 7/8, MySQL, JavaScript, jQuery, HTML5, CSS3.
Expert knowledge of Magento 2 architecture, modules, themes, APIs, and GraphQL.
Experience with integrations: Payment gateways (VNPAY, Momo, PayPal, Stripe), PMS/CRS, Google Analytics, and marketing tools.
Familiarity with AWS cloud, Linux servers, Docker, and version control (Git).
Knowledge of Adobe Commerce Cloud is a plus.
Language & Soft Skills
Excellent command of English (spoken and written). Vietnamese is a strong advantage.
Strong problem-solving, attention to detail, and ability to work independently in a fast-paced pre-opening environment.
