We are seeking an experienced, leadership-driven Computer and Information Research Scientist to lead our advanced R&D initiatives and maintain the highest standards of innovation, algorithmic efficiency, and scientific rigor. In this senior role, you will oversee fundamental and applied research projects, bridging the gap between theoretical computer science and practical, scalable technical solutions. Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership: Manage, mentor, motivate, and evaluate the entire research team, including research scientists, data scientists, machine learning engineers, and doctoral interns.
Standards & Quality Control: Establish and enforce high standards for experimental design, computational reproducibility, and research integrity; conduct regular peer reviews and technical audits.
Operations Planning: Develop and manage research roadmaps, long-term experimental cycles, and innovation strategies to ensure breakthrough results and practical product integration.
Resource & Budget Management: Control funding for high-performance computing (HPC) resources, specialized hardware/software, and research lab infrastructure; manage grant applications and academic partnerships.
Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate with product teams, patent counsel, and executive leadership to align scientific discoveries with commercial goals and strategic intellectual property development.
Training & Development: Design and deliver comprehensive internal seminars on emerging technologies, advanced algorithms, and scientific methodologies; mentor junior researchers on publication and patenting.
Compliance & Reliability: Ensure full adherence to research ethics, data privacy regulations, intellectual property protections, and internal governance guidelines.
Reporting & Continuous Improvement: Prepare reports on research outcomes, technical whitepapers, and patent filings; implement innovative research workflows and collaborative methodologies.
Requirements & Qualifications
Education: PhD in Computer Science, Information Science, or a related field is preferred. A strong track record of published research is highly desirable.
Experience: 5–10+ years in industrial or academic research, with at least 3–5 years in a leadership or senior managerial capacity. Experience in high-impact R&D environments is highly desirable.
Technical & Management Skills:
Expertise in one or more areas such as AI/ML, human-computer interaction, robotics, computer vision, or distributed systems.
Strong proficiency in experimental design, statistical analysis, and programming (e.g., Python, C++, Julia).
Proven ability to lead high-performing research teams and translate complex theories into real-world applications.
Soft Skills:
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Strong problem-solving, intellectual curiosity, and organizational abilities.
High attention to detail with a focus on scientific methodology and documentation.
Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple high-stakes research priorities in a dynamic environment.
