We are seeking a proactive, handy, and reliable entry-level General Maintenance Worker and Helper to support our facility operations and upkeep team. In this role, you will work alongside experienced technicians to perform routine building maintenance, preventative care, and minor repairs across plumbing, electrical, and structural systems. You will balance a willingness to learn with a strong work ethic to ensure our facilities remain safe, fully operational, and visually appealing. Key Responsibilities
Routine Upkeep & Maintenance: Assist in inspecting, testing, and maintaining building systems, including lighting, HVAC filters, doors, locks, and basic facility fixtures.

Minor Repair Execution: Perform basic repairs under supervision, such as fixing leaky faucets, clearing minor drain clogs, patching drywall holes, and touching up interior/exterior paint.

Technician Assistance: Act as a helper to skilled tradespeople (electricians, carpenters, plumbers) by prepping work zones, holding equipment, and retrieving specific parts or materials.

Grounds & Facility Support: Assist with external building upkeep, including minor concrete patches, assembling furniture, setting up event spaces, and clearing pathways of safety hazards.

Tool & Inventory Care: Organize, clean, and properly maintain maintenance shops, service vehicles, and tool kits, ensuring all equipment is accounted for and safely stored.

Safety & Compliance Audits: Conduct routine safety checks, replace batteries in smoke detectors, inspect fire extinguishers, and report any major structural damage or safety compliance risks to supervisors.

Emergency Service Support: Respond promptly to basic work orders and maintenance requests from facility staff, prioritizing urgent tasks to minimize operational downtime.

Requirements & Qualifications
Education: High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience; enrollment in or completion of a vocational/technical training program in a building trade is highly valued.

Experience: 0–2 years of experience in general labor, construction, basic carpentry, apartment maintenance, or general "handyman" work.

Technical Skills:

Basic proficiency and comfort using standard hand and power tools (hammers, drills, wrenches, screwdrivers, saws).

Fundamental understanding of building systems and safety signs, with the ability to accurately read a tape measure.

A valid driver’s license with a clean record is highly preferred for moving service vehicles or purchasing supplies.

Personal Attributes:

Excellent physical health and agility; capable of lifting up to 50 lbs, climbing ladders, crawling into tight spaces, and standing for extended periods.

Strong observational skills and a keen eye for identifying mechanical wear or broken fixtures before they escalate.

A highly coachable and curious mindset, with an eagerness to absorb technical guidance and learn new trade skills on the job.

Punctual, reliable, and capable of working harmoniously within a team or executing simple tasks independently with minimal supervision.
