Role Overview
We are seeking a high-energy, detail-oriented, and customer-friendly Car Wash Attendant to join our fast-growing automotive care team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing top-tier exterior and interior cleaning services for a wide variety of client vehicles. You will balance physical stamina with an eye for detail, utilizing automated wash systems, pressure washers, and specialized chemicals to deliver a spotless finish every time. Key Responsibilities
Vehicle Pre-Wash & Preparation: Greet customers, guide drivers safely into the wash bay or conveyor track, vacuum loose debris, and apply pre-soak chemical sprays to high-dirt areas like wheels and bugs.
Exterior Washing & Drying: Wash, scrub, and rinse vehicle exteriors using high-pressure wands and automated brushes; hand-dry vehicles using microfiber towels to eliminate water spots and streaks.
Interior Detailing & Vacuuming: Vacuum carpets, mats, and seats thoroughly; wipe down dashboards, center consoles, door jambs, and steering wheels using appropriate interior sanitizers.
Window & Glass Clarification: Clean and buff interior and exterior windows, mirrors, and windshields to a crystal-clear, streak-free shine.
Specialized Finish Application: Manually apply tire shine, spray waxes, paint sealants, and leather conditioners according to the specific service package selected by the customer.
Equipment Upkeep & Maintenance: Perform routine checks on pressure washers, vacuums, and chemical dispensers; clean bay areas, clear water drains, and restock clean towels regularly.
Customer Service & Transactions: Advise customers on available wash packages, answer questions politely, and accurately process payments via POS terminals when working the cash kiosk.
Requirements & Qualifications
Education: High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience; certifications in professional automotive detailing or safe chemical handling are a plus.
Experience: 0–2+ years of experience in car washing, automotive detailing, quick-service retail, or general manual labor.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in safely operating industrial pressure washers, heavy-duty commercial vacuums, and automated tunnel equipment.
Basic knowledge of automotive cleaning chemicals, proper dilution, and safe application on different surfaces (matte paint, leather, tinted glass).
A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record is strictly required to safely maneuver and park customer vehicles.
Personal Attributes:
Exceptional physical health and agility; comfortable lifting up to 40 lbs, bending, kneeling, and working outdoors in varying weather conditions (heat, rain).
Sharp attention to detail, ensuring hard-to-reach areas like cup holders, rims, and emblems are perfectly clean.
Highly reliable, punctual, and capable of working efficiently at a fast pace during peak weekend rush hours.
Excellent interpersonal skills, maintaining a smiling, polite, and professional attitude when interacting with car owners.
