JOB DESCRIPTION: Production Improvement Specialist / Continuous Improvement Specialist
Job Responsibilities
Process Analysis: Conduct in-depth analysis of existing production processes to identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, waste, and areas for potential improvement.
Lean Manufacturing Implementation: Lead and participate in the implementation of Lean, Kaizen, 5S, Six Sigma, and other continuous improvement methodologies to optimize productivity.
Project Management: Design, execute, and monitor improvement projects from concept to completion, ensuring alignment with company goals and budget constraints.
Root Cause Analysis (RCA): Perform systematic root cause analysis on production issues, defects, or machine downtime to develop permanent, data-driven solutions.
Standardization: Develop, update, and standardize Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and work instructions to ensure best practices are followed across all production lines.
Data-Driven Decision Making: Collect, track, and report on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) such as cycle time, OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness), scrap rate, and labor efficiency.
Training & Mentorship: Provide training and guidance to production teams on new processes, tools, and improvement mindsets to foster a culture of constant improvement.
Collaboration: Work cross-functionally with Engineering, Maintenance, Quality, and Production teams to ensure changes are successfully adopted on the shop floor.
Job Requirements
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical field.
Experience: 2–4 years of experience in production improvement, industrial engineering, or a similar manufacturing operations role.
Methodology Expertise: Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma (Green/Black Belt preferred), Kaizen, and 5S.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in data analysis tools (Excel, Minitab, or SQL), and familiarity with ERP systems. CAD software knowledge is a plus.
Problem-Solving: Proven track record of identifying operational problems and implementing effective, sustainable solutions.
Communication: Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical staff and lead project meetings effectively.
Attitude: Results-oriented, innovative, and capable of driving change in a dynamic environment.
