JOB DESCRIPTION: Engineering Manager
Job Responsibilities
Strategic Planning: Develop and execute the long-term technical strategy for the manufacturing facility, aligning engineering projects with company production goals and efficiency targets.
Team Leadership: Supervise, mentor, and lead the engineering team (including mechanical, electrical, and process engineers). Manage scheduling, performance reviews, and professional development.
Project Management: Oversee all engineering-related projects, including new equipment installation, facility upgrades, and automation implementation, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget.
Maintenance & Reliability: Ensure optimal performance and reliability of all plant machinery and utility systems. Develop and manage the Preventive Maintenance (PM) program to minimize unplanned downtime.
Technical Problem Solving: Serve as the final escalation point for complex technical issues on the production floor. Lead root cause analysis for major equipment failures.
Budgeting: Manage the engineering department’s budget, including capital expenditure (CAPEX) planning, spare parts inventory costs, and external contractor expenses.
Compliance & Safety: Ensure all engineering activities and modifications comply with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations and legal standards.
Collaboration: Work closely with the Production, QA/QC, and Supply Chain departments to streamline processes and introduce innovative technical solutions to improve overall productivity.
Job Requirements
Education: Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Automation, or a related field.
Experience: 5–8+ years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment, with at least 2–3 years in a leadership or management role.
Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of automation, PLC/SCADA systems, machinery maintenance, and industrial design. Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks).
Managerial Skills: Proven ability to manage teams, handle project timelines, and allocate resources effectively.
Problem-Solving: Exceptional analytical skills and a proactive mindset toward troubleshooting and process optimization.
Communication: Strong interpersonal skills; ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and manage relationships with vendors/contractors.
Language: Fluency in Vietnamese and proficient English for technical documentation and international vendor communication.
